Plaid You at Hello: Two Fall Plaid Outfits from Target

How do you feel about plaid? Love it or not, plaid can be a quietly bold choice. I’ve always been partial to grid-like plaids, usually adding a piece here and there. After shooting at this vibrant grid wall during a Wall Crawl, I found myself craving more plaid. So I teamed up with TargetStyle to create two full-on plaid looks — the perfect reason to revisit my favorite wall. Because plaid on plaid on plaid feels somehow more exciting than just one piece, right?

I started with a safer option: a classic plaid shirt paired with my favorite jeans and an oversized bag. I’d never really owned a plaid flannel before, but these bold colors won me over. It’s an easy, wearable look that feels polished without trying too hard.

For the second look I took the grid print further and combined multiple matching-scale plaids for a coordinated, bold outfit. The trick is keeping the plaids similar in size so the overall effect reads as intentional rather than chaotic. I’m kind of obsessed with this ensemble — it’s comfortable, playful, and has that confident, put-together vibe. Expect to see me in these grid joggers a lot in the coming months.

Would you try plaid on plaid? My style motto is often “go big or go home.” If you enjoy bold combos, mixing plaids in a cohesive way can create a fresh, fun look. For me, plaid feels like a pattern I’ll be wearing more and more this season.
